Even Kim Can Do It Class!

And do it she did! Check out this great finished and in process work from our class last week. Kim, Terry, Colleen and Linda were rocking it!

They have asked for more! I plan on having another semi-private 1 day class for those of you who have taken from me before to work on drawing and painting over collages that you finish at home. Here's the juicy details;

Island Art Workshop

Loved teaching at the Island Art Association this past weekend in Fernandina Beach! I was super proud of you ladies and all the creations that were made and started. I was so excited during the critique that I totally didn't take enough photos! Here's a few that I got. I can't wait to come back next fall/winter and do another workshop. Love this town, this art center and the energy of you fabulous ladies! Send me photos of your other pieces when they are finished.

Celebration Sale!

I love this time of year! When it finally cools off in Florida, it means its time for my birthday and then Valentine's Day. So I am sharing the love by celebrating with a saleI have many paintings that I love but its time for me to let them go of some of them into the world. So I'm taking 75% off of a select group of work through Valentine's Day. I will have all this work and so much more at my studio, 6th Avenue Art Studios, during the Mount Dora Arts Festival on February 4-5th from 9 to 5 pm.. So get one for yourself and then get one for your loved one. Its a deal! Happy birthday and Happy Valentine's Day!

Aha Moments at the First Workshop in My New Studio

The first workshop in my new studio was an amazing success!!  My goal in my mixed media classes has always been to teach new techniques and have each student leave with at least one art work that they love. But my intention is that I want to help each person SEE in a new way and that totally happened this weekend. Watching you ladies find your freedom in collage, your confidence in drawing and your independence in painting was fantastic for me. But Linda's AHA moment that our greatest obstacles are always in our minds, left me feeling thrilled and energized like I was taking the class myself! Thank you ladies!!

I've got you all on my workshop newsletter list and those of you new can sign up HERE (just scroll down a bit). I plan on adding some weekday workshops so keep checking the web site as well.

Sing like no one is listening.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching,
and collage, draw and paint like it’s heaven on earth

4 Paintings A Week

Our Daily Painting group is at it again! Heather Earnest, Pat Weaver, Nancy Johnson and Lynn Ashford and myself have committed to the challenge. To encourage bigger works, we have redefined our goals and decided on 4 paintings a week and a blog about it on Thursdays. My first week at it resulted in only 3 pieces but they are huge and I love them!! Here's what each of us did.

Christine Peloquin;  acrylics, charcoal, fabric and paper collage on wood panel

Heather Earnest; watercolor

Pat Weaver; watercolor

Nancy Johnson; watercolor

Lynn Ashford; watercolor and acrylics
