30x30x30 Challenge: Days 19 thru 23
5 Days of work equals 5 new pieces! 2 figures, 1 face and 2 landscapes. I was playing around with painting and drawing on photo transfers and with painting and drawing on a fabric print of a past painting...just for fun. I really like how the messed up photo transfer with paint became the piece called the Beach. The Three Sisters goes out as homage to my Mom and my 2 Aunts to honor the beautiful little girls that they were! Click on each image to learn more about what went into them.

Capture Series: Summer Fun with Photography
I recently got a tour of the Quittacas Water Treatment Plant from my husband's cousins and we had the best time! The five lakes and reservoirs that supply the drinking water to all of New Bedford and Dartmouth MA, are just beautiful. The technology that purifies the water (think giant Brita water filters the size of buildings) are fascinating. And the industrial fixtures left behind in the older plant, would make any steam punk fan go crazy. It made me shutter trigger happy. Here's some of what I saw......
Land Divided
Land Divided started out as an experiment in using an old broken photo into a patchworked collaged landscape painting. It was a struggle trying to find the balancing point between it being a distraction and losing the photo entirely. Up close this piece is quite abstracted but from far it really takes on the look of a landscape.
