Angel Warriors of Bainbridge Island

In May, I had the greatest pleasure of being invited to teach my workshop to a fabulous group of friends. They were originally inspired by a painting called Angel Warrior and they have committed themselves to 5 years of art retreats to excavate, research and create their own personal idea of Angel Warriors. Of the 10, some are painters and mixed media artists, but for the most part, they are women who are newly diving into art with wholeheartedness.  What they are creating together is simply inspiring.

Their courage, love for each other and generosity were as astounding as the beauty of the Island itself. I was treated to an awesome massage, fabulous dinners, amazing dinner conversations, 2 fun birthday parties and a room above a completely stocked studio on the Wacky Nut Farm. I went on hikes in the gorgeous woods, did yoga in a studio above the horse barn, and soaked in the Washington weather otherwise known as Forest Bathing. I got introduced to Mary Oliver's work, watched 9 women comfort and love a friend in great need and did some paintings that I love. I got a private tour of Islandwood, a beautiful school situated on 250 acres on Bainbridge Island, that teaches the love of the environment, sustainability and art to kids in 4th and 5th grade. I got to know these 10 super smart and caring women and now call them my friends. Everything about my trip was amazing! Thank you again Debbi and all of you ladies! I can't wait to go back! What an Honor!

I just came off a weekend workshop at my studio in Mount Dora with 8 of the most positive and fun ladies ever! Ina and Elina flew to Mount Dora all the way from the Netherlands! Seriously, I'm honored. Everyone created a piece that made them happy and made me proud. Having such talented people in my workshops really makes my job so easy! So thank you again ladies!

WE HAVE 2 STUDIO SPACES AVAILABLE FOR RENT! PLEASE CONTACT ME AT 407.620.4350 FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE IT! The first is an adorable space with 2 windows and afternoon sunlight. It's 13.5' x 9.5'. $260 a month. The second is a half space that is 7.5 x 4.5 and is $120 a month.

Both have their own keyed entrance. The price includes wifi and utilities. I ask for an equal deposit and a month to month agreement. There is a jurying process.

I will need at least 1 high resolution, in focus photo with good lighting. I will take requests for colors or fabrics. Please email me questions and high resolution photos for a more specific quote.  A 50% deposit is required before beginning the piece.

Private Art Instruction: The Art of Seeing

There is nothing like drawing to remind us that obstacles are always found in the mind. My favorite aspect of teaching is when I can help another person change their perspective and SEE things in a whole new way. Inevitably, it makes them better and at drawing and both of us, better artists. I offer private classes to develop that art of seeing.

The classes are individually designed to either be like the workshops that I teach, or to be sessions that work on a personal set of goals, such as finishing a certain project, enhancing drawing and painting skills, or further developing your artistic style. I treat art coaching like life coaching and we work on a variety of skills needed to succeed and thrive as an artist. Private art classes are $50 per hour with a 2 hour minimum for the first session.

Nature Coast-Spring Hill Workshop

I am so lucky. And blessed. I came off of my experience as a student of Mary Whyte and got to teach a class of 12 that included 5 teachers and a room of brave and amazingly sweet ladies. I just love watching people feel the fear and doing it anyways! Such great things happen. And inevitably, every piece comes out so differently and individually.  Well done ladies!
