I finally finished this piece of my Mom and her sister and I'm keeping it! I'll send you a print Shelly! I just love my Mom's sweet little smiling face and cinnamon bun on her head. Little Judy. I love you Mom. I miss you everyday.

Private Art Instruction: The Art of Seeing
There is nothing like drawing to remind us that obstacles are always found in the mind. My favorite aspect of teaching is when I can help another person change their perspective and SEE things in a whole new way. Inevitably, it makes them better and at drawing and both of us, better artists. I offer private classes to develop that art of seeing.
The classes are individually designed to either be like the workshops that I teach, or to be sessions that work on a personal set of goals, such as finishing a certain project, enhancing drawing and painting skills, or further developing your artistic style. I treat art coaching like life coaching and we work on a variety of skills needed to succeed and thrive as an artist. Private art classes are $50 per hour with a 2 hour minimum for the first session.

Mary Whyte
I had the extreme pleasure of actually taking a class with the fabulous Mary Whyte last week. I had a great time working in watercolor (which I only dabble in) and for first the first time, I did watercolors upright on an easel with life models. I had a blast and learned so much.
I am thinking about her teaching this morning as a prepare to go downstairs and teach Day 2 of my workshop in Spring Hill. "Am I being true to my style?" she asked us. "Are you thinking in shapes, values, color and edges...not inventory?" Beautiful. I am so jazzed.
4 Paintings A Week
Our Daily Painting group is at it again! Heather Earnest, Pat Weaver, Nancy Johnson and Lynn Ashford and myself have committed to the challenge. To encourage bigger works, we have redefined our goals and decided on 4 paintings a week and a blog about it on Thursdays. My first week at it resulted in only 3 pieces but they are huge and I love them!! Here's what each of us did.
Christine Peloquin; acrylics, charcoal, fabric and paper collage on wood panel
Heather Earnest; watercolor
Pat Weaver; watercolor
Nancy Johnson; watercolor
Lynn Ashford; watercolor and acrylics
Day 18 and 19 of Daily Painting
I'm behind in blogging! Daily blogging is way more work than daily painting.Next Daily Painting blog post will be a weekly recap of daily paintings. Stay tuned Daily Painters!
Day 17: Daily Pastel Painting
According to the Daily Painting book, pastels are painting. I consider them drawing and fun and maybe my favorite. If I didn't have to frame every piece behind glass, I might do this full time! I've been searching of a way to fix the pastels without changing them, but I haven't found anyone with the secret elixir. If you know of one- CONTACT ME PLEASE!! Thanks!
